A small town near Zadar, Nin has a very rich and tumultuous history. Its location is intriguing; the heart of Nin is its historical center on an islet only 500 meters in diameter.
Nin is situated in a lagoon on the eastern shore of the Adriatic Sea, surrounded by natural sandy beaches and linked with the mainland by two stone bridges from the 16th century.
The whole area of Nin is an oasis of long sandy beaches. Total length of Nin sandy beaches is 10 km. The longest beach is the „Queen's beach“ followed by Ždrijac beach. This is mostly a shallow lagoon where you can walk and it is a suitable and safe place for children.
Medicinal mud (peloid) is located near the long, sandy Queen's Beach. Its effectiveness has been tested by thousands of people, who organised and supervised by a Zadar Health Institution, have used the mud to treat various ailments such as rheumatic diseases, spinal deformities, muscular and the skeletal system problems, female infertility and various skin diseases for decades.
Nin salt, with a high percentage of iodine, is among the best in Europe, and in the world. The most interesting is ''salt-flower''-the highest quality and healthiest type of salt, which has a large and important impact on Health.
Having this salt on your table daily will be a reminder of the exceptional Nin climate and its wonderful gifts.
Sandy beaches in the Nin bay offer perfect conditions for windsurfing and kitesurfing. The main precondition is that there is enough wind. The most frequent wind in summer is light to moderate Maestral (NW), and occasionally can blow much stronger Bura (NE), more frequent in spring and in winter.
Zadar is an ancient city, built in the center of the Croatian Adriatic, full of historical and cultural monuments. It is three thousand years old, a city of old, tumultuous and dynamic history, often destructed, looted, devastated, every time emerging from the ruins stronger, richer and more beautiful.
The resort covers an area of 100 ha alongside a magnificent bay (zaton means bay in Croatian) in a completely natural environment. The area's rich vegetation, natural woods, well-tended parks and well-designed gardens make up an oasis of exceptional beauty.
It is located in Starigrad, northern Dalmatia, at the southern slopes of Velebit mountain, not far from Zadar. The Park area contains 150–200 km of trails and paths, from those intended for tourists, to those intended for mountaineers.
Paklenica National Park is the most visited climbing site in Croatia, and the largest in Southeast Europe.
Krka National Park It is located along the middle-lower course of the Krka River in central Dalmatia, some 80 km from Nin, in Šibenik-Knin county, downstream Miljevci area, and just a few kilometers northeast of the city of Šibenik.
It was formed to protect the Krka River and is intended primarily for scientific, cultural, educational, recreational, and tourism activities. It is the seventh national park in Croatia and was proclaimed a national park in 1985.
The Kornati National Park covers the bigger part of the Kornati waters. Because of their exceptional landscape beauty, interesting geomorphology, highly jagged and indented coast as well as because of rich communities of the submarine eco-system, the islands were made a national park in 1980.
Sight at the monument Grgur Ninski and Church of the Holy Cross in the background.
Nin is also known as an origin of an old Croatian ship from the 11th century - Condura Croatica.
Sight at the Museum of Nin antiques, placed in the heart of the city.
The wealth of architectural and other heritage of Nin, is the reason for the interest in archaeological excavations in this area which date from long ago, even from 1777 when the first smaller archaeological diggings in this area are mentioned.
